Item Explorer

Item Explorer is the client interface for SOLIDWORKS PDM items. Use Item Explorer to view and manage items and item folders.

Item Explorer presents a product-centered view of SOLIDWORKS PDM files. Product managers can use Item Explorer to review design progress without opening CAD files. Marketing and sales executives can check product status. Design teams can coordinate their work with other teams.

Item Explorer lets you manage the links between items and files but not the files themselves. For file-management tasks such as checking files in and out, use File Explorer.
