Custom Properties

To make it easier to find components, you can add custom properties, assign them to all or some components, and list the components with specific custom property values in the left pane of the CircuitWorks Component Library dialog box.

Adding a Custom Property

To add a custom property:

  1. In the CircuitWorks Component Library dialog box, in the left pane, select a component.
  2. Click Add Property .
  3. In the New Custom Property dialog box, type a Property name and Property value.
  4. Select optional settings:
    • Apply to all components. Applies the property value to all components that are visible in the library.

If you do not apply a property value to all components, you can assign values to individual components by editing component properties.

    • Add new column in table. Creates a column in the left pane that is labeled with the property name and property value.

If you do not add a new column now, you can do so later by clicking Add column for available properties and selecting the custom property.

  5. Click OK.

Deleting a Custom Property

Deleting a custom property deletes it from all components.

To delete a custom property:

  1. Click Delete custom property for all components.
  2. In the dialog box, expand the Custom Properties list and select the custom property to delete.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
The custom property is deleted from all components.

If you have added a column for the custom property, it remains.

  5. To delete the column, right-click the column head and click Remove Column.
