Defining a 2D Simplification Study

You use the 2D simplification option when defining a static, nonlinear, thermal, pressure vessel design, and design studies on qualifying 3D models.

  1. Click New Study (Simulation CommandManager).
  2. In the PropertyManager, under Name, type a name for the study.
  3. Under Type, select one:
    • Static static.png Button
    • Thermal
    • Nonlinear nonlinear.png Button
  4. Under Options, select Use 2D Simplification.
    For Pressure Vessel Design , this option does not appear. However, after creating the study, you can combine the results of static studies performed using the same type of 2D simplification analysis.
  5. Click .
    The 2D Simplification PropertyManager appears.
