Animating the Camera View Orientation

You can impose a motion on the assembly through the animation by changing the view orientation of the camera over time. The camera view orientation defines how a model is viewed during animation.

To create a view orientation animation of an assembly:

  1. Right-click Orientation and Camera Views in the MotionManager design tree and select Disable View Key Creation.
  2. Drag the time bar to a new position, past the start time.
  3. Drag the key point from the Orientation and Camera Views line to the time bar, and select Place Key.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Rotate, pan, or zoom the model to present the view of interest.
    • Select a standard view tool from the View toolbar.
    • Right-click the key point in the line that extents from Orientation and Camera Views , select View Orientation, and select a standard or named view.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to define the camera view orientation key points for this animation.
  6. When the animation is complete, right-click Orientation and Camera Views and select Disable View Key Creation to prevent any further changes in views from being included in the animation.
  7. Click Play from Start (MotionManager toolbar) to test your results.

About Disabling Playback of View Keys

Animation view keys are key points that specify the model view at different times during the animation. View keys appear as Orientation and Camera Views key points.

If you disable the playback of view keys, an animation ignores existing Orientation and Camera Views key point view settings.

To disable playback of view keys, from a motion study, right-click Orientation and Camera Views (MotionManager tree), and click Disable Playback of View Keys diableplaybackviewkeysgrayunselected.gif.
When you select Disable Playback of View Keys diableplaybackviewkeysgrayunselected.gif, the button appears selected menu_Disable_View_key_creation.gif in the Orientation and Camera Views command list.
Disabling playback of view keys disables view key creation. You cannot disable view key creation unless you enable playback of view keys.
