Setting Up Event-based Motion Analysis

You can specify event-triggered motion control using any combination of sensors, events, or a time schedule.

To set up event-based Motion Analysis:

  1. From a motion study, select Motion Analysis.
  2. Plan out the tasks required to model the event-triggered motion.
    The main components of tasks are time or event-based triggers that define the start of a motion task, and control actions that are implemented as a result of the task trigger.
    Task triggers include:
    • Sensors with an Alert condition
    • Time events
    • Previous tasks
    Task control actions include:
    • Applying or changing motors or forces
    • Toggling mates
    • Stopping the motion
  3. Create the sensors necessary for triggering motion actions.
  4. Set up the constant speed motors or constant forces necessary to define event-triggered actions.
  5. Click Event-based Motion View .
  6. Create a sequence of tasks.
  7. Calculate the motion to test the model.

Changing to an Event-based View

You can set up a motion study as a collection of actions that are triggered by events in an event-based Motion Study View.

To change from a time-based View to an event-based View:

From the MotionManager toolbar of a motion study, click Event-based View .

Changing to a Timeline View

You can set up a motion study by modifying the assembly motion according to position in a timeline Motion Study View.

To change from an event-based View to a timeline View:

From the MotionManager toolbar of a motion study, click Timeline View .
