Export to AEC - Type and Orientation

Use the Export to AEC - Type and Orientation wizard page to define the coordinate system for the exported file.

To open the Export to AEC wizard, click Tools > Export to AEC.

Define Host

host type Floor Based Component

Ceiling / Roof Based Component

Wall Based Component

Controls the orientation of the exported model in AEC.
Placement Plane Shows the plane you select in the model as the placement plane.
  Flip Normal Flips the default normal vector of the reference plane, depending on the host type.
In SOLIDWORKS, "up" is typically in the +Y direction. For AEC products, up is in the +Z direction.
Placement Point Shows the point you select in the model as the placement point.
