Gusset PropertyManager

To open the Gusset PropertyManager:

Click Gusset tool_Gusset_Weldment.gif on the Weldments toolbar, or click Insert > Weldments > Gusset.

Supporting Faces

Select Faces Select adjacent planar faces from two intersecting structural members.
PM_reverse_direction.gif Flip Profile D1 and D2 Parameters Flip the values between Profile Distance1 and Profile Distance2.

Profile

Triangular Profile Click to create a triangular gusset, then set values for Profile Distance1 and Profile Distance2.

PM_profile_polygonal.gif Polygonal Profile Click to create a polygonal gusset, then set values for Profile Distance1, Profile Distance2, and Profile Distance3. Then select one of the following:

Set a value for Profile Distance4.

Set a value for Profile Angle.

PM_profile_chamfered_gusset.gif Chamfer Click to create a chamfer to allow room for a weld bead under the gusset. Set Chamfer Distance5, then select one of the following:

Set a value for Chamfer Distance6.

Set a value for Chamfer Angle.
  Thickness Select where to apply gusset thickness:
  • Inner Side offset_above.png Button

  • Both Sides PM_rib_center_of_sk.gif
    weldments_gussets_both.gif
  • Outer Side PM_rib_right_of_sk.gif
    weldments_gussets_outer.gif
(For all of the above images, Location is set to Profile Locates at Mid Point.)
PM_thickness.gif Gusset Thickness Set a value.

Location

Location Select where to locate the gusset profile:
  • Profile Locates at Start Point PM_Profile Locates at Start Point.gif
  • Profile Locates at Mid Point PM_profile_at_midpt_gusset.gif
  • Profile Locates at End Point PM_Profile Locates at End Point.gif
Under Location, select:

Profile Locates at Start Point PM_Profile Locates at Start Point.gif

(Thickness set to Inner Side offset_above.png Button)

 Profile Locates at Mid Point PM_profile_at_midpt_gusset.gif

(Thickness set to Inner Side offset_above.png Button)

 Profile Locates at End Point PM_Profile Locates at End Point.gif

(Thickness set to Outer Side PM_rib_right_of_sk.gif)
Offset Select if you want to offset the gusset location, then specify an Offset Value. Click Flip Offset Direction PM_reverse_direction.gif to change the offset direction.
