Reference Points

You can create several types of reference points to use as construction objects. You can also create multiple reference points that are a specified distance apart on curves.

Click View > Hide/Show > Points to toggle the display of reference points.

When you select items, the SOLIDWORKS software attempts to select the appropriate point construction method. For example, if you select a face, SOLIDWORKS selects the Center of Face PM_Point_CenterOfFace.gif construction method in the PropertyManager. You can always select a different type of point construction method.
