Adding Components from Windows Explorer

To add components by dragging and dropping from Windows Explorer:

  1. Open an assembly.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder that contains the desired component.
  3. Drag the document icon from the Explorer window.
    A preview of the component appears.
  4. Drop it in the graphics area of the assembly window. You can inference the assembly origin.
    If the component has multiple configurations, the Select a configuration dialog box appears.
  5. Select the configuration you want to insert, and click OK.
