Using Flattened Mass

For sheet metal parts, you can choose Flattened-Mass in the Cut-List Properties and Summary Information dialog boxes. Flattened mass is calculated based on the model's flat pattern.

In previous releases, only Mass was available, which corresponded to the folded mass.

To use flattened mass:

  1. Open install_dir\samples\whatsnew\sheetmetal\enclosure.sldprt.

  2. Click File > Properties.
  3. In the dialog box, select the Custom tab.
  4. In row 1 of the table, set the following:
    1. Property Name: Weight
    2. Type: Text.
    3. Value / Text Expression: Mass.
    The Evaluated Value is 2071.551.
  5. In Value / Text Expression, select Flattened-Mass.
    The Evaluated Value changes to 2071.599.
  6. Click OK.
