Removing Regions with Intersect Tool

This example walks you through the preview options for the Intersect tool.

To remove regions with the Intersect tool:

  1. Open install_dir\samples\whatsnew\parts\junction_box.sldprt.
  2. Click Intersect (Features toolbar) or Insert > Features > Intersect.
  3. In the PropertyManager, do the following:
    1. From the flyout FeatureManager design tree, select Shell 1, Extrude-Thin1 and Extrude-Thin2 for Solids, Surfaces, or Planes to Intersect.
    2. Click Create Both and click Intersect.
    The software populates the Regions List.
  4. Under Preview Options, click Show included and excluded regions.
  5. In the graphics area, select an inner pipe.

    The highlighted pipe is removed from the preview. The region corresponding to the pipe is also selected in the Region List.

  6. In Region List, select Region 14 and Region 15.

    The pipes highlight in the preview.

  7. In the graphics area, select all the pipes inside the shell until they disappear in the preview.

  8. In the PropertyManager, under Preview Options, click Show excluded regions.

  9. Click Show both included and excluded regions.

  10. Click Invert Selection.

  11. Click .
