SetTessellationQuality Method (IModelDoc2)

Sets the tessellation quality index for the application.

.NET Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Sub SetTessellationQuality( _
   ByVal QualityNum As System.Integer _
)
Visual Basic (Usage)
Dim instance As IModelDoc2
Dim QualityNum As System.Integer

instance.SetTessellationQuality(QualityNum)
C#
void SetTessellationQuality(
   System.int QualityNum
)
C++/CLI
void SetTessellationQuality(
&   System.int QualityNum
)

Parameters

QualityNum
Number between 0 and 106 that indicates the quality of tessellation to use for this part (see Remarks)

Remarks

This method changes the shaded-display quality setting on your system, not just the current document. The numeric deviation value changes based on the current part. This deviation is calculated as follows:

QualityIndex = TessMin + QualityNum*((TessMax-TessMin)/100)

Deviation = 0.025 * (BodyDiameter) / QualityIndex

where BodyDiameter is the diagonal distance across the bounds of the part box. See IPartDoc::GetPartBox or IPartDoc::IGetPartDoc for details.

The resulting deviation value is in meters.

Use IModelDoc2::GraphicsRedraw2 after using this method to update part.

NOTE: Setting the index of the tessellation to a higher value results in:

  • finer tessellation,
  • increased file size,
  • slower graphics performance, and
  • increased memory usage.
