Before you use SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM, the vault must be running.
You can back up and restore the vault.
When a new version of the vault software is available, the vault administrator should perform an update as described in the installation guide. After the vault software is updated, there is no need for a system administrator to update each client and VaultAdmin individually.
When you install a new major release of SOLIDWORKS, you can use the SOLIDWORKS Task Scheduler to schedule a batch conversion of Workgroup PDM vault files to work with the new version of SOLIDWORKS.
If an error is not self-explanatory, stop and restart the SOLIDWORKS Workgroup PDM Server service. It is not necessary to reboot the vault machine.
