When you edit split or saved bodies features, you can assign bodies by selecting from a list of derived parts, or by assigning them to other stored part files. You can also allow SOLIDWORKS to attempt to assign all bodies to existing derived parts. In this case, some parts might not be assigned as a result of this process.
You can assign bodies for a stock part with a split or saved body feature to:
- Existing derived parts for the feature
- A new part file that is not a derived part for the feature
