Saving Files as HTML Files

You can save files as eDrawings HTML files, then view them in a browser.

eDrawings HTML files can be viewed in Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher only.

You must have the eDrawings Viewer installed to view an eDrawings HTML file. If you do not have the eDrawings Viewer installed, it is automatically downloaded and installed when you open the eDrawings HTML file. In some cases, you may be prompted to reboot if any of the files required for installation are in use.

When saving an eDrawings file as .html:
  • You may need to change Internet Explorer (IE) settings for the eDrawings ActiveX control to properly load. For help on setting ActiveX controls in IE, see the Microsoft online help.
  • You may need to select Enable Protected Mode in IE options. You must reboot your system after selecting this option.
  • There is a known Microsoft issue that prevents ActiveX from working on Windows 10.

When you open the eDrawings HTML files in a browser, you can access certain eDrawings functionality.
