About 3DSwym Communities

After you select a platform and sign in, you can go to any of the communities on the platform to which you have access.

Select a community from the list in 3DSwym Communities. In 3DSwym Communities, you can search for content, create blog posts, share media, ask and answer iQuestions, and contribute to wikis.

Optionally, you can view the 3DSwym communities in a browser window by clicking .

There are several types of communities on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

Community Type Description
Public Visible to everyone; accessible to everyone
Private Visible to everyone; accessible to authors, contributors, and owners
Secret Only visible to invited individuals; accessible to invited authors, contributors, and owners
When an owner creates a private or secret community on your 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, the owner invites users to join the community. The owner also assigns a role to each user - contributor, author, or owner.
  • Authors can add new content to the community, such as creating blog posts or iQuestions.
  • Contributors can only add comments to existing posts, or answer existing iQuestions.
  • Owners have full access to the community and can invite others to the community.

Both your 3DSwym administrator and the community owner manage the users and their roles in each community. For more information on administering the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, see help.3ds.com and under Social and Collaborative Apps, refer to the 3DSwym section.
