3D ContentCentral

3D ContentCentral® provides access to 3D models from component suppliers and individuals in all major CAD formats.

Supplier Content links to supplier Web sites with certified 3D models.
User Library links to models from individuals using 3D PartStream.NET.
You must accept a license agreement when you first open 3D ContentCentral before you can access the contents.

You can search the 3D ContentCentral site, view, configure, and evaluate models online, and download models.

You can search for:

Product categories and suppliers Use the category or supplier listing displayed on the left pane to navigate on all pages.
Model numbers Use the search text box displayed at the top of all pages.

Type a part number, a supplier name, or any other keyword and click Search.

You cannot search for models by specifications.

Accessing 3D ContentCentral

To access 3D ContentCentral:

  1. In the Task Pane, select the Design Library tab .
  2. Expand the 3D ContentCentral folder and subfolders.
  3. Select a category in the lower pane to link to a Web site.
    You can search the 3D ContentCentral site, view, configure, and evaluate models online, and download models.

Searching for 3D ContentCentral models using SOLIDWORKS Search

To search for 3D ContentCentral models using SOLIDWORKS Search:

  1. In SOLIDWORKS Search , select Files and Models and enter search criteria.
  2. View results on the Task Pane Search tab .
    To search 3D ContentCentral, in Tools > Options > System Options > Search, under File and Model Search, select Include 3D ContentCentral results .

Submitting Your Model to the 3D ContentCentral User Library

To submit your model to the 3D ContentCentral user library:

  1. Right-click 3D ContentCentral and select Share a Model.
  2. Follow the directions on the screen to enter your profile information and upload your model.
    SOLIDWORKS Corporation will review your model and inform you whether it is accepted for sharing.
