Use templates to automate the creation of new files and folder structures in SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional. For example, a template can create a project structure, automatically name the folders, and provide information for the project data cards.
Items do not support templates.
Users can select SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional templates from the Windows Explorer New menu when working in a vault. See SOLIDWORKS PDM Explorer Help for details.
