Managing Data

The 3DEXPERIENCE Connection apps work the same across the SOLIDWORKS products with a few variations in eDrawings and DraftSight.

Commands for SOLIDWORKS Connection, eDrawings Connection and DraftSight Connection can be accessed from the File menu. For SOLIDWORKS and DraftSight, files are managed from the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform pane. Team members can search in Collaborative Spaces to find shared files and save copies on their computers. The 3DEXPERIENCE Connection apps keep track of the status of files, so users always know if the latest version resides on their computer or in the cloud.

For eDrawings and DraftSight, files must be converted to file types supported by eDrawings or DraftSight before they can be saved back to a Collaborative Space. With the eDrawings Connection app, only one file at a time can be saved to the cloud.
