Opening Files from a Collaborative Space

When you open a model from a Collaborative Space, the model and all of its references are downloaded to your computer.

To open files from a Collaborative Space:

  1. Click File > 3DEXPERIENCE Platform > Open from Collaborative Space.

    The Open from Collaborative Space dialog box displays a list of all models in the cloud.

    Hovering over each model in the list view displays the status, file name, the Last Modified time, and the Collaborative Space where the file is stored.

    Hovering over a lock icon displays who has locked the model.

  2. Find a model to open by scrolling through the Open from Collaborative Space dialog box or by using the Search For field and selecting a space name in the list.
  3. Specify a Default Download Folder on your computer and click Open.
  4. If different versions of the model exist in the cloud and on your computer, you must select one of the following options:
    • Open from Local Directory and Collaborative Spaces downloads new files and files that are newer in the Collaborative Space than on your computer, but does not download files when the copy on your computer is newer than the one in the Collaborative Space.
    • Open from Collaborative Spaces and Overwrite all Local Files downloads all files from the Collaborative Space and overwrites all the files on your computer, even files on your computer that are newer than ones in the cloud. New files are downloaded to their parent assembly’s directory.
    • Open Only Local Files opens files on your computer and does not open any files from the Collaborative Space, including new files.
