Starting the Administration Tool

You can start the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration tool on any SOLIDWORKS PDM client computer.

To start the Administration tool, do one of the following:

  • When you are logged in to a vault view and have permission to see the Administration tool, select Tools > Administration.
    The SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration dialog box opens. If you have sufficient privileges, you are automatically logged in and the node for the vault from which you opened the tool expands to show the administrative options for the vault.
  • On Windows 7 and Windows Server systems prior to Windows Server 2012, from the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > SOLIDWORKS PDM > Administration .
    When the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration dialog box opens, double-click the vault you want to manage to log in to it.
  • On Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 or later, on the Apps screen, under SOLIDWORKS PDM, click Administration.
    When the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration dialog box opens, double-click the vault you want to manage to log in to it.
