Support Item generation
( SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional only) |
Allows items to be created from files
of this type using the File Explorer Generate
Item command or the Item Explorer New Item
From File command. See Items. By default, this option is enabled only for CAD part and assembly
file types. These types define product structure for which SOLIDWORKS PDM can automatically generate item structure. You can enable
item generation for other file types, but it is more typical to link existing items
to non-CAD files than to generate items directly from them.
This option is not enabled for CAD drawings by default. SOLIDWORKS PDM statically links drawings to the corresponding part or
assembly item. Selecting this option enables the Generate
Item command for drawings, but the behavior does not change; separate
items are not generated for drawings.

the drawing registered as a parent reference. Type extensions
without periods (.), and separated by commas (,).
