Workflow Editor Interface

When you create or edit a workflow, the workflow appears in the right pane of the Administration tool. Controls that are specific to workflows are added to the Administration tool toolbar. You can also right-click to access shortcut menus.

Toolbar Buttons

The workflow toolbar buttons let you create new workflow elements and control the view of the workflow.

tool_workflow_new_state.gif New State Prompts you to click in the workflow to indicate where the state should be created and opens the New State Properties dialog box.
tool_workflow_new_transition.gif New Transition Prompts you to select the source and destination state for the transition and opens the New Transition Properties dialog box.
tool_workflow_new_workflow_link.gif New Workflow Link Opens the Workflow Link Properties dialog box.

You can drag the link anywhere in the Workflow Edition window.

Zoom to Area Zooms to the area of the workflow that you select.
Zoom In\Out Displays the Workflow_editor_zoom_tool_cursor cursor. Hold down the mouse button and drag up to zoom out and down to zoom in. You can also zoom by using the mouse wheel.
Zoom to Fit Fits the entire workflow in the available space in the right pane.
Actual Size Displays the workflow at its original (100%) size.

Shortcut Menus

Right-click a workflow object (state, transition, or workflow link) to display its short-cut menu:

Copy Copies the object. You can then right-click over empty space in the workflow editor and select Paste to make a duplicate copy of the object.
Cut Cuts the object. You can then right-click over empty space in the workflow editor and select Paste to relocate the object.
Delete Deletes the object.
Properties Opens the object's Properties dialog box.

For workflow links, click the link to open its dialog box.

Right-click a blank space in the workflow to display a menu with these commands:

Select All Selects all objects in the workflow.
Paste Pastes an object that has been copied or cut at the cursor location.
New State Opens the New State Properties dialog box.

The state is placed where you initiated the command.

New Transition Prompts you to select the source and destination state for the transition and opens the New Transition Properties dialog box.
New Workflow Link ( SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional only) Opens the Workflow Link Properties dialog box.

You link is placed where you initiated the command.
