Document Properties - Material Properties

Lets you set crosshatch options and material density for the active part. Available for parts only.

These options are not available for drawing or assembly documents. The crosshatch pattern that you select for the part displays in section views of the part in drawings.

If you have applied a material to the part, you must remove the material before you can set properties here.

To set material properties options:

  1. In a part document, click Options or Tools > Options.
  2. On the Document Properties tab, click Material Properties.
  3. Type the material density in the Density box.

  4. Under Area Hatch/Fill, select from the following:
    • None
    • Solid
    • Hatch
  5. If you select Hatch, do the following:
    1. Select a crosshatch pattern from the Pattern list.
    2. If necessary, set the Scale and Angle of the crosshatch pattern.
A preview of the pattern is displayed in the preview box when you click the Pattern list again.
  6. Click OK.
You can also change the Density from the Mass/Section Property Options dialog box. Click Tools > Evaluate > Mass Properties > Options, to access this dialog box.
