View Labels

View labels let you communicate information about your drawings, such as view names and scale. View labels use tags to add content, but you can also type text in a label.

You can add view labels to any view type.

Adding View Labels

You can add one view label to any drawing view that does not contain a view label. You can add view labels manually or automatically upon view creation.

To manually add a view label to a drawing view:

  1. Right-click in the drawing view and click Add View Label.
  2. Double-click the icon.
  3. Type the text.
  4. In the PropertyManager, set options.
  5. Click .

To automatically add a view label to a drawing view:

  1. Click Tools > Options > Document Properties > Views > Other.
  2. Select Add view label on view creation.
  3. Click OK.

Editing View Labels with Tags

You can use tags to edit drawing view labels.

To edit a view label using tags:

  1. Click the view label to open the Note PropertyManager.
  2. Clear Manual view label.
  3. Right-click the view label and click Edit Text in Window.
    The tags within the label display their value as assigned from Document Properties.

    Scale <VLSCALE>
    Delimiter <VLSCALEV>
    Angle <VLANGLE>
  4. Click the tag buttons to add or delete the tags, or type in your own text.
  5. Optional: Click to add symbols to the view label.
