Radial Step Explode Options

Explode Steps

Create and display Radial explode steps.

Explode Stepn Lists components exploded radially. You can drag an active step to reorder the steps.

When you add or edit a step, an asterisk (*) appears next to the step name.

Roll Back Rolls back an explode step.
Roll Forward Rolls forward an explode step.
  Rollback bar Rolls back or rolls forward through the explode steps when you drag the rollback bar. You can add a step above the rollback bar.
Right-click a step located above the rollback bar to access the following tools:
  • Roll Back
  • Suppress
    Suppressed steps are not shown in the graphics area for Explode Steps or Smart Explode Lines. Suppressed steps remain suppressed regardless of the rollback bar position.
Right-click a step located below the rollback bar to access the following tools:
  • Roll Forward
  • Roll to Previous
  • Roll to End

Add a Step

Regular step Explodes components by translating and rotating them.
Radial step Explodes components aligned radially or cylindrically about an axis.
Explode Step Name Displays the name of the explode step. The default name is Explode Stepn. You can edit the name.
Explode Step Components Displays components selected for the current explode step.
  Explode Direction Displays the explode direction.
Explode Distance Displays the distance to move the component.
Rotation Angle Specifies the degree of component rotation about the component origins.
  Diverge from axis Explodes components away from the axis along an angle.
Diverge direction for radial explode step Specifies the angle of divergence. Select a cylindrical face, conical face, linear edge, or axis. The selected entity must create an angle with the explode axis.

Available when you select Diverge from axis.

  Add Step Adds an explode step.
  Reset Resets options in the PropertyManager to the initial state.
  Done Saves changes to an explode step.

Options

Select subassembly parts When selected, enables you to select individual components of a subassembly. When cleared, enables you to select an entire subassembly.
Explode components along their origins Explodes components along their origins. When cleared, components explode along their bounding box center.
Reuse Subassembly Explode Uses explode steps that you defined previously in a selected subassembly.

The default name for the subassembly explode steps is Steps of subassembly. To update the subassembly explode steps, right-click the subassembly explode step and click Update subassembly's steps.
