When you make a block, you have the option to specify an insertion point.
When inserting a block into a document, insertion points:
- Add a manipulator by which you can drag the block.
- Act as the rotation and scaling point.
- Enable you to add relations between the manipulator and the sketch entity.
To set an insertion point:

Create a sketch.
- Click Make Block
(Blocks toolbar) or .
- Click Insertion point to display the insertion point manipulator
, and drag the manipulator to the sketch entity and position required.
With sketch snaps, you can position the insertion point manipulator to any inferenced sketch entity.
