Editing a Machining Template

You can modify Costing templates any time there are changes in cost structures. For example, if the price of steel increases, you can change the cost in the template.

If you want to make a temporary change instead of changing template data, you can override values in the CostingManager or Costing Task Pane.

Default templates are read-only. You cannot overwrite a default template, but you can save the template as a different name.

  1. In a machined part, click Costing tool_costing_tools.gif (Tools toolbar or the Evaluate tab on the CommandManager) or Tools > SOLIDWORKS Applications > Costing.
  2. In the Costing Task Pane, under Machining Template:
    1. Select the template to edit.
    2. Click Launch Template Editor.
  3. In the Costing Template Editor, edit the template.
  4. Click Save Tool_Save_Standard.gif.
  5. Close the Costing Template Editor.
