Saving Reports

To save the results of a utility in an HTML report:

You can save reports for the following utilities: Compare Features, Compare Geometry, Compare Documents, Compare BOMs, Geometry Analysis, Symmetry Check, and Thickness Analysis.
  1. Click Save Report in the PropertyManager or in the Compare Task Pane.
  2. In the Save Report dialog box, specify the following:
    Option Description
    Report folder name Displays the name of the report.
    Report folder path Displays the location to save the report. Click Browse to change the default SOLIDWORKS Utilities report folder.
    Add report to Design Binder Saves the report to the Design Binder. The report appears under the Design Binder folder in the FeatureManager design tree with a .utl extension. It is embedded in the part, not linked. If you update the part, the report does not update automatically.
    View report on save Opens the HTML report in your Internet browser. Multiple Compare reports open simultaneously in separate browser windows. Make sure your browser options are set to allow reuse of windows to launch shortcuts.
    Save results in eDrawings (Thickness Analysis only.) Saves the thickness analysis results in an eDrawings file (<filename>.eprt). It saves the resultant body with thickness analysis options and colors.
    Options Allows you to specify report options.
  3. Click Save.
    You can access the report at any time with the Report Manager.
