Bearing Displacements Due to Stiffness

Consider a shaft with two bearing fixtures applied on cylindrical faces with stiffness: KR (radial) and KA (axial). Two loads are applied: Fv (vertical), and Fa (axial) as shown.

The average Y -displacement of the bearings is: dy = Fv / (2 KR)

The average Z- displacement of the bearings is: dz = Fa / (2 Ka)

If you define bearing connectors by modeling the housing faces, the above equations represent average relative displacements of the shaft with respect to the housing.
