Expressions in Input Fields

You can type expressions in fields that allow numerical inputs.

Examples:
  • To use a component of a resultant force of 50N oriented at a 30° angle to the selected direction, you can type 50*cos(pi/6) for Force in the Force/Torque PropertyManager.
  • To reduce the parametric value of density of 7800 kg/m^3 to one-third, you can type 7800/3 for User defined value in the Add Parameters dialog box.

Operators, Functions, and Constants

When you use trigonometric functions in equations, specify the angular units by selecting Degrees or Radians in Angular Equation Units in the Equations dialog box.

sgn (a) sign returns the sign of a as -1 or 1

For example: sgn(-21) returns -1
