Mode Selection Filter

Available for frequency, buckling, and linear dynamic studies. You can display up to a maximum of four modes shapes concurrently in split viewports.

  • To open the Mode Selection Filter PropertyManager, right-click Results and click Compare Modes.

Mode Selection Filter

Select from two to four modes to display their mode shapes in split viewports.

  Mode No. Displays a list of available modes.
  Freq Lists the resonant frequencies in Hertz or rad/sec.
  X direction Lists the mass participation ratios (normalized with respect to the total mass) in the global X direction for each mode.

Variable SumX stores the sum of all mass participation ratios in the X direction.
  Y direction Lists the mass participation ratios in the global X direction for each mode.

Variable SumY stores the sum of all mass participation ratios in the Y direction.
  Z direction Lists the mass participation ratios in the global X direction for each mode.

Variable SumZ stores the sum of all mass participation ratios in the Z direction.
  Synchronize Views (Compare Modes mode) Synchronizes the view orientation of the displayed model shapes. The active view orientation of the model is applied to all viewports.
  Exit Compare (Compare Modes mode) Exits the Compare Modes mode.
