Editing Property Values

You can edit values for component material and other non-calculated properties directly from the Assembly Visualization list.

Editing Noncalculated Properties

You can add, edit, or remove values for noncalculated properties directly from the Assembly Visualization list. You cannot change calculated properties such as Volume, Mass, and Quantity.

You define noncalculated properties such as Vendor, Status, and Cost in the component files.

To edit a property:

  1. On the Assembly Visualization tab , in the property column, click-pause-click on the value you want to change.
  2. Enter, edit, or delete the value and press Enter.
    Your change is applied in the list and in the component file.

Editing Component Materials

You can add, edit, or remove component materials directly from the Assembly Visualization list.

To edit material:

  1. On the Assembly Visualization tab , set the sorting property to SW-Material.
  2. Move the pointer over the material you want to edit.
    An arrow appears to the right of the material.


  3. Click the arrow.
    A flyout menu appears.


  4. Do one of the following:
    • Click Edit Material and select from the Material dialog box.
    • Select a material from the favorites list.
    • Select Remove Material.
    Your change is applied in the list and in the component file.
    If a component is a multibody part that has different materials assigned to each body, *** appears in the SW-Material column. Move the pointer over *** to see a list of the materials used. You can apply one material to all the bodies using the procedure above. You cannot change individual body materials from the Assembly Visualization tool.
