FeatureManager Design Tree Display Options

You can select display options for the FeatureManager design tree.

To access these options, right-click the part or assembly name in the FeatureManager design tree and click Tree Display.

Show Flat Tree View Parts only.

Displays curves, 2D sketches, and 3D sketches in the order of creation instead of hierarchically.

Show Feature Names Displays features by name.

You must enable Show Feature Descriptions before you can disable Show Feature Names.

Show Feature Descriptions Displays feature descriptions.

By default, feature descriptions do not show because the descriptions are the same as the feature names.

You must specify a different description in the features' properties for the description to appear in the FeatureManager design tree.
Show Translated Feature Name in Tooltip Displays a default feature name in the selected language when you hover over the feature.
Do not show Configuration/Display State Names if only one exists Suppresses the configuration and display state names when there is only one configuration.
Show Component Names Displays component names.

You must enable Show Component Descriptions before you can disable Show Component Names.
Show Component Descriptions Displays component descriptions.

By default, component descriptions do not show as the descriptions are the same as the component names.

To display a component description:

  • Specify a new component description on the Custom tab of the Summary Information dialog box.
  • Select Description for Custom property used as custom description on the General page of the System Options.
Show Component Configuration Names Shows component configuration names.
Show Component Configuration Descriptions Displays component configuration descriptions.

By default, component configuration descriptions do not show as the descriptions are the same as the component configuration names.

To display component configuration descriptions, you must specify new component configuration descriptions by opening the Configuration Properties PropertyManager from the Configuration tab.
Show Display State Names Shows the display state for the selected configuration.
Show Comment Indicator Displays a comment indicator.
View Features Assemblies only.

Lists features for each component.
View Mates and Dependencies Assemblies only.

Lists dependent items instead of features under each component. Dependent items include mates and component patterns.

Group Component Instances Assemblies only.

Groups the same components with the same configuration into a folder-like structure.

Display Feature Names in a Different Language

In the FeatureManager® design tree, for features that use the default name, you can view a feature name translated into a different language. The translation displays in a tooltip when you hover over the feature.

To display feature names in a different language:

  1. In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click a top-level assembly or part and click Tree Display.
  2. Click Show Translated Feature Name in Tooltip and click a language.
  3. In the FeatureManager design tree, hover over a feature that has a default name.

    The tooltip displays the feature name and the translated feature name. For example, the French translation of Shell1 is Coque1:

  4. Optional: To hide the tooltips, under Show Translated Feature Name in Tooltip, click Hide Tooltip.
