Creating a TolAnalyst Study Use DimXpert for parts to add tolerances and dimensions to parts of an assembly. Open the assembly. Click TolAnalyst Study (MBD Dimension toolbar) or Tools > DimXpert > TolAnalyst Study. The first of four PropertyManagers opens. To save the TolAnalyst study at any time and exit, click in any TolAnalyst PropertyManager. Edit the study to return to the saved data and continue the analysis. Follow the four-step process. Contents Establishing the Measurement The first step in creating a TolAnalyst study is to specify the measurement as a linear dimension between two DimXpert features. Creating the Assembly Sequence The second step in creating a TolAnalyst study is to define the simplified assembly. A simplified assembly includes, at a minimum, the parts necessary to establish a tolerance chain between the two measurement features. This step also establishes the sequence or order in which you place parts into the simplified assembly, which TolAnalyst replicates when computing the worst case conditions. Applying the Assembly Constraints The third step in creating a TolAnalyst study is to define how each part is constrained in the simplified assembly. Analyzing the Results The final step in creating a TolAnalyst study is to set and review the results. When the Results PropertyManager is activated, the results are automatically computed with the default or saved settings. TolAnalyst Overview Editing a TolAnalyst Study Constructed Features
