Analysis Modules: Flow, Pack, Cool, and Warp

SOLIDWORKS Plastics simulates the four main injection molding process steps with four analysis modules: Flow, Pack, Cool, and Warp.

Analysis Module Main Injection Process Step
Flow Filling of the cavity
Pack Packing of the injected material inside the cavity
Cool Cooling of the mold
Warp Deformation of the ejected part

The main analysis module is the Flow module, which simulates the basic injection molding process of filling a cavity. However, many analyses start with the Cool module because it provides the temperature distribution of the mold, which is in turn used as a boundary condition by the Flow module.

You typically run the analysis models sequentially. SOLIDWORKS Plastics provides preconfigured sequences that allow you to automate the sequential execution of the analysis modules. The available sequences depend on the setup of your simulation.
