Trace Filters

Use the Trace Filters panel to filter out traces by their size.

To open the Trace Filters panel:

Click the Tools tab, then click Traces in the Filter area of the Tools toolbar.
Traces are supported by IDF 4.0.
Narrower than

Filters out traces narrower than the specified width. Enter a value, click or , or drag the slider .

Wider than

Filters out traces wider than the specified width. Enter a value, click or , or drag the slider .

Filter out all on conductive layers
Filters out all traces on the conductive layers you select.
This option applies only to conductive layers, and removes all traces from the conductive layers, not just the traces that satisfy the other filtering options you set.

Filtering Traces by Size

In preparation for import to SOLIDWORKS, you can filter out traces by size.

To filter out traces by size:

  1. From the Tools tab, click Traces in the Filter area of the Tools toolbar.
  2. In the Trace Filters pane, under Filter by size, enter a filtering criteria:
    Option Description
    Narrower than

    Filters out traces narrower than the specified width. Enter a value, click or , or drag the slider .

    Wider than

    Filters out traces wider than the specified width. Enter a value, click or , or drag the slider .

    The filtering criteria you select does not apply to conductive layer filtering.

Filtering Out Traces from Conductive Layers

In preparation for import to SOLIDWORKS, you can filter out traces on conductive layers.

To filter out traces on selected conductive layers:

  1. From the Tools tab, click Traces in the Filter area of the Tools toolbar.
  2. In the Trace Filters pane, select Filter out all on conductive layers.
  3. Select the conductive layers to remove traces from.
