Defining an Initial Temperature Profile for a Transient Thermal Study

It is required to define initial temperatures to all parts of your model before running a Transient Thermal analysis.

The program assumes 0K initial temperature for parts without Initial temperature assignments. First apply an Initial temperature to every part, and then apply the required boundary temperatures.

To define an Initial Temperature profile for a transient thermal study:

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click Thermal Loads and select Temperature tool_loads_temp.gif.
  2. In the PropertyManager, do the following:
    1. Set Type to Initial Temperature.
    2. In the graphics area, select the faces, edges, vertices, and components to apply a prescribed temperature. Click Select all exposed faces to select all faces exposed to outside at once.
To delete a face, right-click the face and select Delete. See also topic Selecting All Exposed Faces.
    3. Click PM_OK.gif.
