Pipe and Tube Drawings

Piping and tubing drawings of routes include fittings, pipes, dimensions, and a BOM in an isometric view.

Creating a Drawing

You can create isometric drawings of piping or tubing assemblies that include the routing sketch, a BOM, or balloons.

Before you create the drawing, click Options (Standard Toolbar) and click File Locations to select default paths for sheet formats and bills of materials.
  1. From a saved routing assembly, click Pipe Drawing .
    To create a tube drawing, click Tube Drawing (Tubing toolbar).
  2. Click to select a sheet format template.
  3. To include a BOM, select Piping BOM template or Tubing BOM template, and click to select a BOM template.
  4. Select other options and click .
    You can view the Pipe Length in notes and custom properties of a piping route and, the Bill of Materials in a drawing.

Pipe Drawing PropertyManager

To open this PropertyManager:

Click Pipe Drawing (Piping toolbar).

Drawing Options

Drawing template Uses the selected template for the pipe drawing.
Sheet format template Uses the selected template for the sheet format.
Piping BOM template Uses the selected template for the BOM.
Include auto balloons When selected, includes auto balloons in the drawing.
Show route sketch When selected, includes the sketch in the drawing.

Tube Drawing PropertyManager

To open the Tube Drawing PropertyManager, click Tube Drawing (Tubing toolbar).

Drawing Options

Sheet format template Uses the selected template for the sheet format.
Piping BOM template Uses the selected template for the BOM.
Include auto balloons When selected, includes auto balloons in the drawing.
Show route sketch When selected, includes the sketch in the drawing.
