Assigning Folder Access

You can use the Group Membership tab on the Folder Properties dialog box to grant a user access to a folder.
You can grant group membership and access to a folder if you have the Assign group membership permission in your user profile. You must have Assign permissions in your user profile to grant permissions.

To assign folder:

  1. In the File Explorer, right-click a folder and select Properties.
  2. On the Group Memberships tab, under a group name, select a user name.

This adds the user to the selected group, but only grants access to the current folder.

  3. On the Permissions tab, grant the user permissions for file operations in the directory as needed.
  4. Click OK.
