AssemblyXpert - Mates

AssemblyXpert checks:

  • The number of mates that are evaluated when the assembly rebuilds

  • The amount of time it takes the software to evaluate those mates

Certain mating conditions can result in slower rebuild times. If mates rebuild slowly, AssemblyXpert reports any mates that reference:

  • Assembly features. Mates that reference assembly features rebuild slowly compared to mates that reference component geometry.

  • Patterned components. Mates that reference instances of components that are generated by a component pattern rebuild slowly compared to mates that reference non-patterned components.

Although the conditions identified by AssemblyXpert can degrade assembly performance, they are not errors. It is important that you weigh recommendations of the AssemblyXpert against your design intent. In some cases, implementing the recommendation would improve assembly performance, but would compromise your design intent.

To list the mates in question:

Click Show these Parts in AssemblyXpert.

In the dialog box, you can:

  • Under Name, select a mate to highlight it in the graphics area.

  • Print the list, copy it to the clipboard, or save it to a file.
