Assigning Properties

You can assign properties to the model to populate drawing borders or automate annotations in SolidWorks drawings.

For your DriveWorksXpress project, you can add new properties or use properties already set up in SolidWorks.

To manage or add properties:

  1. Select Tools, DriveWorksXpress .

  2. Select Add/Edit Models and click Next.

  3. Select from the list of Models already in DriveWorksXpress and click Next twice.

  4. Open the Properties tab.

A double window displays Non Captured Properties and Captured Properties. Items in the Non-Captured list are in the model but are not associated with the outputs for the DriveWorksXpress project.

  1. Use the transfer keys to move existing properties between the Non-Captured and Captured Property windows:

and move single properties.

and move all properties in the list.

  1. To add a new property:

    1. Click New

    2. Enter a name in Custom Property.

    3. Click Apply.

The property now appears in the DriveWorksXpress Captured Properties window.
