Revision Management for Named BOMs

Each time you check in a named BOM after editing, you create a new version of the BOM. Enterprise PDM maintains the version and revision history for each named BOM.

If a named BOM is associated with the latest version of the source file, the Update Source Version icon on the BOM tab appears as . If the associated file has a new version, it appears as .

To display the revision history:

From the Bill of Materials view, right-click a named BOM ( or )  and select History, or select the BOM and click History (Windows Explorer toolbar).

You can add or edit comments for selected versions and save them by clicking Update.

To check in or check out a named BOM:

You can:

  • On the Bill of Materials tab, select a named BOM and click Check In or Check Out .

  • From the Bill of Materials view , right-click a named BOM document and select Check In (or Check Out).

You can also click Check In (or Check Out ) (Windows Explorer toolbar) to manage revisions of selected named BOMs.
