Defining Uniform Force
To apply a uniform force to an entity in a certain direction:
In the Simulation study tree, right-click the
External Loads
icon
and select Force
.
Click inside the Faces,
Edges, Vertices, Reference Points for Force box
,
then select the entity to which the force is applied.
Click Selected
direction.
Click inside the Face,
Edge, Plane, Axis for Direction box
, then select
the desired entity for direction.
For multiple selected entities, select Per
item to apply the force value to each entity, or Total
to distribute the force value among the selected entities.
Select the desired Units

Under Force,
do one of the following:
Click
.
If you applied the force to a face or an
edge, the force is applied uniformly.
To apply uniform force normal to faces:
In the Simulation study tree, right-click the
External Loads
icon
and select Force
.
In the graphics area, click the faces or shell
edges to which the force is applied.
Select Normal.
Select the force Units
.
In the Force
Value
box, type the force value.
Select Per item
to apply the force value to each entity, or Total
to distribute the force value among the selected entities.
Click
.
To define uniform torque:
In the Simulation study tree, right-click the
External Loads
icon
and select Force
.
Under Force/Torque,
click Torque.
Click inside the Faces
for Torque box
then select a face.
Click inside the Axis,
Edge, Cylindrical Face for Direction box
then
select an entity for direction.
Select the desired Units
.
Specify the Torque
Value
.
Select Per item
to apply the torque to each entity, or Total
to distribute the torque value among the selected entities.
Click
.
