In the image with Indirect Illumination on, note that the left wall, ceiling, and floor inherit some of the blue color of the right wall. Also, note that the reflective sphere on the right becomes more washed out.

The color gradation is not optimal in the image on the right because the images are reduced to 256 colors for the online help.
