Flatten Route PropertyManager

You can flatten an electrical route sub-assembly to create:

  • A flattened configuration of the 3D model.

  • A drawing of the flattened harness.

To flatten a route:

  1. In the route sub-assembly, click Flatten Route (Electrical toolbar) or Routing, Electrical, Flatten Route.

  2. Set options in the PropertyManager as described below.

  3. Click .

The flattened route is created as a new configuration of the 3D electrical route sub-assembly. In the FeatureManager design tree, a Flattened Route feature is added.

To toggle between the 3D and flattened route, right-click Route or Flattened Route and select Show Configuration.

If you selected Drawing Options, the software creates a drawing file with a flattened view of the route.

Flatten Type

Annotation. Specifies simplified representations of the route as a flattened configuration and drawing. The lines are not true lengths, but the annotations on the route segments display the true length of the routed wire.

Manufacture. Specifies scaled representations of the route as a flattened configuration and drawing. These representations are made to scale within a region.

Flatten Parameters (Manufacture-Style only)

Flatten Options

Display 3D connectors. Displays the 3D models of the connectors in the flattened route.

Use drawing connector blocks. Displays 2D drawing blocks of the connectors in the drawing of the flattened route. No connectors appear in the flattened configuration of the model.

Drawing Options

Select tables and annotations to appear on the drawing. Click Open Table Template to browse for different templates.

Electrical BOM. Adds a bill of materials to the drawing. The default template is bom-standard.sldbomtbt.

Cut list. Adds a table called Circuit Summary to the drawing. The table lists cut lengths and connection information for each conductor. The default template is bom-circuit-summary.sldbomtbt.

Connector table. Adds a table for each connector with pin/cavity designations and the corresponding names of wires. The default template is connector-table.sldtbt.

Auto balloons. Balloons are added for each item in the bill of materials
