Sharing Files
Shared files exist in two or more folders concurrently. Shared files are marked with a yellow plus sign in the icon in the Explorer view. For example,

Checking out a shared file from any location checks out all instances and checking in the file saves modifications to the vault and to all instances of the file. Only one user at a time can check out a shared file.
If the source file being shared is checked out, the new instance remains checked out and in the same state as the original.
Using Paste Shared
To share a file using Paste Shared:
- Verify that you have permission to share the file.
The right to share files is set up by the administrator and defined
in the workflow.
- Right-click the file to be shared and select Copy.
- Right-click the destination folder and select Paste Shared.
Although it is possible to paste shared assemblies, it is not recommended as it can create problems with check in and check out.
Using Share Here
To share a file using Share Here:
- Right-click the file you want to share and drag it to the appropriate folder.
- Select Share Here from the shortcut menu.
