Performing a Trial File Upgrade

Before upgrading the SolidWorks files in a production vault, perform the upgrade on a copy of the production vault to ensure that there are no upgrade problems.

Contact your value added reseller for help creating a copy of your vault.

  1. Restore a complete backup of the file vault to a separate server.
  2. From the Windows Start menu, click All Programs > SolidWorks Enterprise PDM > File Version Upgrade.
  3. Follow the instructions in the upgrade wizard.
  4. Verify that the upgrade is successful.
