Change Password

You can change the password for the current account. The initial password is assigned by the vault administrator. The administrator can change the password for any account without knowing the current password. If you forget your password, the administrator can assign a new one.

Login user names are case insensitive. Passwords are case-sensitive and encrypted.

To change your password:

  1. In SolidWorks client, click Options on the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM toolbar, or right-click in the vault view and select Workgroup PDM Options. In the SolidWorks Explorer client, click Options .

  2. In the dialog box, on the Vault tab, under Password, click Change.

  3. In the Change Password dialog box, edit the information as described below and click OK.

Password information

User name. The current user name is displayed (read only).

Old password. Type in the current password (required).

New password. Type in your choice of a new password, then type it again in the New password (again) box.

Save password locally. Save the new password locally so you are not required to log in every time you open a client if the vault administrator has not specified on the VaultAdmin Vault Settings tab that users must log in each time they open Workgroup PDM.
