Create Subproject

You can create subprojects to help organize project documents into more manageable pieces. Subprojects are similar to subfolders in Windows Explorer.

The vault administrator must have enabled subproject creation on the Vault Settings tab of VaultAdmin. You must have write access to the project to create subprojects.

To create a subproject:

  1. Right-click the project in the vault view and select Create SubProject. In the SolidWorks Explorer client, right-click a project and select Create SubProject.

  2. In the dialog box, under New subproject information, type a Name and Description in the boxes. Parent project is read-only.

  3. Click OK.

The subproject appears in the tree underneath its parent project in the vault view.
